ATTORNEYS & COUNSELORS AT LAW

Roland B. Durocher ---- Channing J. Hartelius ---- Jeffrey G. Winter

What We Do

At Hartelius, Durocher & Winter, we focus on helping people who have been injured through the carelessness, negligence, or irresponsibility of others. Examples of the cases we regularly handle are:

  • Serious motor vehicle wrecks,
  • Railroad injuries, and,
  • Dog attacks.

Our experience in dealing with the law, insurance and litigation related to these matters allows us to offer you free consultation, and advice as to whether or not we think we can help. When we take an injury case, it is only on a percentage/contingency basis. That means we do not get paid until we successfully obtain a settlement or verdict. Whatever your particular case requires, we have the background, knowledge and experience to handle investigation, negotiation, and if necessary, litigation.

Our Philosophy:

If you have been hurt, you have plenty of worries. It's not just a matter of being in pain, or not being able to enjoy life. Missing work, extra bills, not being able to care for your family. All of these things add pressure. That is when you are most vulnerable, when insurance companies or claims agents can play games and leverage you. That is when you need help. We are here to provide that help. We know your rights, and how to enforce them. You were already a victim once, when someone else hurt you. We do not want you falling victim a second time to a claims person whose job is to save his company money.

WHY WE DO NOT HAVE E-MAIL LINKS:
Each situation is unique, and advice must be given on a case-by case basis.  We must first evaluate whether or not we think we can help.  That is best done face to face.  At minimum, we like to talk to people so that we can get the information we need, not just what the prospective client thinks we need, to make that judgment call.  Even when we take a case, it is with the understanding that we have to develop all of the facts, get proper documentation, and then only do a final analysis when all the information is available.

An e-mail is a one way conversation, at least to start, and does not allow us to get the same feel for a case as we can through interaction.  And, every once in awhile, the spam filters work too hard, or something goes wrong in cyberspace, and we would not know if we missed hearing from you.  So, we would prefer a phone call from you.  If it sounds like we can help, we will make an appointment to meet with you, at no cost or obligation.
